Description
This Silver Jackets pilot project has been establishing a standard operating procedure (SOP) to provide the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) and the Department of Natural Resources, Office of Water Resources (IDNR-OWR) personnel log-in access to MICA (mobile information collection application) and a way to use the multiple districts within Illinois MICA streams. These projects leverage MICA knowledge for Phase II feature field evaluation and for Phase III to increase shared data. Time is precious during flood events and this pilot proposal will have the necessary components to identify lead times, evacuation plans, quantities, equipment, materials, and personnel to respond to a flood event thereby shifting limited resources from planning to implementation. As a result of this demonstration project future flood damages will be reduced and life safety improved. The methodology developed in this pilot will be documented and can be used as the framework for other pilots/projects in similar communities across the nation.

Status
Phases I and II are complete. Phase III work is underway in FY17. As a result of this demonstration project future flood damages will be reduced and life safety improved. The methodology developed in the pilot project will be documented and can be used as the framework for other pilot projects in similar communities across the nation.
