Published Nov. 30, 2018

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will close Coralville Lake’s Sugar Bottom Mountain Bike Trails and Sugar Bottom Disc Golf Course near Solon, Iowa beginning Saturday, December 1.  This closure is to accommodate the shotgun and muzzle loader hunting seasons for whitetail deer.  Both the trails and disc golf course will be closed from December 1, 2018 to January 27, 2019.

Corps managed lands are open for hunting in designated areas at Coralville Lake.  A map of public hunting areas around the lake can be found at www.coralvillelake.org or picked up at the Administration Office.  State rules and regulations apply for hunting in these areas.

During shotgun and muzzle loader hunting seasons, the US Army Corps of Engineers encourages visitors to use appropriate safety measures when visiting areas open to hunting.  This may include wearing blaze orange vests and/or clothing.
