Campsite Upgrades at Coralville Lake Affecting Reservation Process

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is in the process of making upgrades to a number of campsites at Coralville Lake. During the 2019 season, campsites being improved will appear as unavailable in the online reservation system. Once work is complete, the unavailable sites will again be reservable via the website: www.recreation.gov or by calling toll free to 877-444-6777.

The following campgrounds and sites will be affected during the upgrade process:

Linder Point Campground: Sites L09-L18 are currently not available for reservations. Work taking place at these sites include converting sites from gravel to concrete, upgrading the electrical service from 30 amp to 50 amp service, installing new campfire rings, and adding new picnic tables.

Sugar Bottom Campground: Sites 08-15, 32-38, 41-42, 46-51, 152, 154, 156-181, 192-214 have been temporarily converted to walk-up (first-come, first-served) campsites while water hookups are being in installed.

During the upgrades, a new dump station and drinking water supply is also being added to the Tailwater East Campground. This improvement will result in campsite E11 being permanently removed from the facility.
