Thomson Causeway Recreation Area Partially Open for Weekend

Thomson, IL - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi River Project announces the partial reopening of the Thomson Causeway Recreation Area at 12:00 pm noon on Friday July 5, 2013.  The recreation area had been closed due to flooding.

 

Facilities at the park that will be available beginning Friday at noon include: 78 first-come-first-serve campsites with electrical hookups in Potter’s Marsh, 3 shower buildings with flush toilets, on-site camp host, boat ramp, playgrounds, group picnic shelters, amphitheater, and law enforcement and ranger patrol.  The camping fees are either $18.00 or $16.00 per night for electrical sites.

 

The Hickory Point and Riverbirch Camping Loops will remain closed and no reservations anywhere in the park will be taken until the entire recreation area is back in full operation, hopefully by early next week.
