  • Lock and Dam 13 boat ramp closed for maintenance

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, announces the public boat ramp located at Lock and Dam 13 north of Fulton, Illinois, will be closed for maintenance starting Monday, Oct. 31. The closure is anticipated to last until Monday, Nov. 7. Boat ramps at Cattail Slough and Big Slough will remain open for access to the Mississippi River during this time.   • Corps to resume collection of recreation fees at Coralville Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, will resume collection of recreational day use fees for boat ramps at Coralville Lake beginning April 1. Launching fees are $5 per day, per vehicle and can be paid with a credit or debit card via the self-serve machines at each boat ramp location. No cash or coins will be accepted at Mehaffey and West Overlook. Sandy Beach boat ramp will continue to be free of charge.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, will resume collection of recreational day use fees for boat ramps at Saylorville Lake beginning April 1. Launching fees are $5 per day, per vehicle and can be paid with a credit or debit card via the self-serve machines at each boat ramp location. No cash or coins will be accepted at Cherry Glen, Sandpiper and Lakeview Main boat ramps. Lakeview Highwater boat ramp remains a cash or check only ramp with envelopes provided at the dropbox.
  • Coralville Lake Closes West Overlook Day Use Boat Ramp

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, has closed the West Overlook Day Use Boat Ramp at Coralville Lake until further notice. The closure was deemed necessary to evaluate safety concerns related to the boat ramp.
  • Recreation Closures Continue at Coralville Lake

    IOWA CITY, Iowa - All public day use boat ramps managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Coralville Lake remain closed at this time. This includes the Curtis Bridge, Mehaffey Bridge, Sandy Beach, Sugar Bottom, and West Overlook boat ramps. Lake MacBride Boat Ramp which is managed by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources also remains closed. West Overlook Recreation Area campsites 61-89 and Sugar Bottom Recreation Area campsites 156-181 and 192-214 as well as the campground boat ramp at Sugar Bottom also remain closed.
