  • Campsite Upgrades at Coralville Lake Affecting Reservation Process

    IOWA CITY, Iowa – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is in the process of making upgrades to a number of campsites at Coralville Lake. During the 2019 season, campsites being improved will appear as unavailable in the online reservation system. Once work is complete, the unavailable sites will again be reservable via the website: www.recreation.gov or by calling toll free to 877-444-6777.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Mississippi River Project, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Clinton Community College, Clinton Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Stewards of the Upper Mississippi River Refuge will be hosting the 35th Annual Bald Eagle Watch on Saturday January 5, 2019. Educational programs and environmental exhibits will be held at the Clinton Community College. Eagle viewing will be held at Lock and Dam #13 in Fulton, Illinois.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will close Coralville Lake’s Sugar Bottom Mountain Bike Trails and Sugar Bottom Disc Golf Course near Solon, Iowa beginning Saturday, December 1. This closure is to accommodate the shotgun and muzzle loader hunting seasons for whitetail deer. Both the trails and disc golf course will be closed from December 1, 2018 to January 27, 2019.

    IOWA CITY, Iowa – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is hosting its 3rd Annual Haunted Trail at Coralville Lake. The event will be held at Sugar Bottom Campground located at 2192 Mehaffey Bridge Road, NE, Solon, Iowa, 52333 on Friday, Nov. 2 and Saturday, Nov. 3 from 7-9 p.m. each night. The haunted trail is recommended for tweens, teens and adults. A family area with nature activities, a PG movie, bounce house, face painting and more will be available for participants of all ages.
