Description:

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi River Project, in partnership with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, is offering free boating safety classes. This class is recommended for anyone who is new to boating, families that enjoy weekend boating adventures, or seasoned boaters who would just like to brush up on their safe boating knowledge. This is a classroom-based safety course. Anyone over the age of 12 can be certified and only one 8-hour course is needed to complete the certification.

Upon successful completion of the 8-hour class and written exam, participants will be issued an Illinois DNR Boat Safety Certificate, which is honored in both Iowa and Illinois.

For more information and to register call the Mississippi River Visitor Center at 309-794-5338.
