New for the 2013 camping season at Saylorville Lake

100% Reservable Campsites at Bob Shetler, Cherry Glen & Prairie Flower Campgrounds in 2013

1.     100% Reservable campsites for the Bob Shetler, Cherry Glen and Prairie Flower Campgrounds!  Advance reservations to help ensure you a  site for your camping experience. Reservations can be made:

  • By calling the National Recreation Reservation Service (NRRS) toll free at 877-444-6777
  • By going on-line to the NRRS website www.recreation.gov
  • At the Bob Shetler, Cherry Glen and Prairie Flower Campground entrance stations

2.     24 hour reservation window. Allows you to make a reservation to camp the very next day. Check-in time is 4pm.

3.     All campers are required to stop and register at the entrance station upon arrival.

4.     Campers with reservations that have not registered or contacted the park attendant within 24 hours of their respective check-in time regarding their stay will be processed as a “NO SHOW” and the site will be released as a first come first serve site.  Contact the fee booths with any complications or change in plans.

5.     Campsites that are not reserved are available on a first come first serve sites.  

Camping at Saylorville Lake

With 4 different campgrounds to choose from Saylorville Lake is sure to provide a camping experience tailored to you.  Our campgrounds are host to a variety of scenery ranging from upland hardwoods in Acorn Valley and Cherry Glen campgrounds, to planted prairie in Prairie Flower campground, to riverside views and bottomland timber in Bob Shetler campground.

All campgrounds are open to both RV and tent camping; however Acorn Valley hosts some tent-only campsites and also has a youth group site that is available for use by organized youth groups such as the boy scouts. Prairie Flower campground is also host to group loops, which allows a large group to camp together in a wagon-wheel formation.   

Reservations for campsites can be made 180 days in advance.  Reservations for the group loops in Prairie Flower North Campground can be made 360 days in advance.  All picnic shelter reservations can be made 360 days in advance.
