Project Location: The proposed site is located within Section 12, Township 90 North, Range 4 West, Wright County, Iowa. See attached location maps. Latitude: 42.625626 Longitude: -93.747499.
Bank Objectives: The fundamental objective of compensatory mitigation is to offset environmental losses resulting from unavoidable impacts to waters of the United States (WOTUS) authorized by Department of the Army Permits. Other Objectives include the support of the national goal of no net-loss of wetlands, enhance or restore wildlife habitat along White Fox Creek, provide additional flood storage and reduce the impacts of downstream flooding by capturing and storing high flow events, improve water quality by reducing sediment
loading and nutrient loading, and provide economically efficient and flexible mitigation opportunities.
Project Description/Bank Establishment: A. The bank sponsor proposes to complete activities on approximately 52-acres of property owned by Mr. Rutherford. This project would result in the generation of emergent wetland and forested wetland compensatory mitigation credits. The goal of this project is to restore 19.65-acres of emergent wetland and 2.73-acres of forested wetland and establish 29.78-acres of buffer to generate an initial estimate of 29.83 wetland credits.
