Work Set to Begin to Repair Guidewall at Locks and Dam 15
A large section of the lower guidewall at Locks and Dam 15 had to be removed in May 2017 after engineers found that portions of the wall had moved significantly. Now, contracted construction crews are preparing to make repairs.
To facilitate major repairs, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District will be closing six of the eight locks and dams on the Illinois Waterway in the year 2020. The closures are scheduled to take place simultaneously to lessen impact to commercial navigation as much as possible. For more information click the link below.

Help clean up the environment and preserve the natural beauty at Saylorville Lake. Volunteers can meet a Park Ranger at the Visitor Center where they will provide gloves, trash bags and get you started on your project. Please wear long pants, long sleeves, and closed toed shoes.  Volunteers who work 3 hours may receive a camping pass for one free night at a Corps of Engineers managed campground at Saylorville Lake. Saylorville Lake Visitor Center is located just off NW Horseshoe Rd, Ankeny, Iowa.  For questions please contact the Saylorville Lake Project Office.
