Cut trees at Lake Red Rock

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Rock Island District is offering free firewood collection permits to interested parties via an online request process. These permits will allow members of the public to cut and collect firewood from dead ash trees recently removed from recreation areas at Lake Red Rock. Permits for collecting driftwood are also now available.

A link to the online permit application form is available on the right-hand side of the Lake Red Rock homepage: www.lakeredrock.org. Maps showing the location of the firewood and woodcutting areas are also available from this site.

Due to COVID-19 precautions, permits will not be issued through the visitor center or business office until further notice. For more information, please contact the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Lake Red Rock office at 641-828-7522.
