In cooperation with levee districts and local project sponsors, the Corps inspects and evaluates federally and non-federally constructed, non-federally operated and maintained, flood damage reduction projects within the Corps’ Rehabilitation and Inspection Program. The projects within the Rock Island District’s 78,000-square-mile mission area total more than 640 miles. There are approximately 20,000 miles of private-party, federal, state, and local levees outside the District’s Inspection Program.
The following is a list of levees currently & previously enrolled in the Rock Island District's Public Law 84-99 Rehabilitation and Inspection Program and their Routine and Periodic inspection ratings.
NOTE: The Rock Island District assigns our flood-area engineers to geographical areas to provide communities with flood-fight support and assistance during high-water events; therefore, levee systems are listed within their geographic boundary.
