Boating at Saylorville Lake

ATTENTION BOATERS!
Before heading out on Saylorville Lake - check the lake levels. Saylorville Lake is a flood control reservoir which means the levels fluctuate causing high water conditions with floating debris and low water conditions with exposed mudflats and shallow places. Over the years the area north of the Mile Long Bridge has continuously become shallow - no vessels are recommended north of the Mile Long Bridge.

BOAT RAMPS
Cherry Glen and Lakeview is open all year (no winter road maintenance); Sandpiper is open March through November. The Saylorville Marina boat ramp is managed by the Saylorville Marina and you can call (515) 984-6541 for more info. The Lincoln Access and the Jester Park boat ramps are operated and maintained by the Polk County Conservation Commission (515) 323-5300.

*There is no fee for the Lincoln Access and Jester Park boat ramps.

DAY USE FEE
Cherry Glen, Lakeview, Lakeview Highwater and Sandpiper charge a $5 per day use fee, April through the end of September. Annual Passes may be purchased for $40, good for unlimited, nationwide use at all U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Recreation Areas. The Annual Pass is valid for one year from date of purchase. Visitors receive free admission to day use areas (beach and/or boat ramps) if they display an America the Beautiful Interagency Senior, Access, Military, Annual, or Volunteer Pass or an Every Kid in a Park 4th Grade pass.
