The current request is a modification of Department of the Army authorization (CEMVR-OD-P-2014-821). The Beardstown Marina currently does not have access to the main channel of the Illinois River at normal pool due to sedimentation from the Sangamon River. Maintenance dredging is necessary to make this facility functional. Maintenance dredging of the original entrance channel from the east side of the Illinois River Navigation Channel at approximate Illinois River Mile 88.8 northerly under the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Bridge to the limits of the Beardstown Marina Harbor entrance.
