Little Walnut Creek Stream and Wetland Mitigation Bank (CEMVR-RD-2023-0482)

Expiration date: 3/21/2025

The bank sponsor proposes to complete activities on 39.08-acres of publicly owned property that would result in the establishment of both stream and wetland mitigation credits. The goal of this project is to restore a reach of Little Walnut Creek and adjacent wetlands across a project area of approximately 2-miles.

UPDATED DRAFT MITIGATION BANKING GUIDANCE PROPOSAL FOR ROCK ISLAND DISTRICT (IOWA AND ILLINOIS)

The U.S Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) Rock Island District, with the assistance of both the Iowa and Illinois interagency review teams (IRT), including Illinois DNR, USEPA (Regions 5 & 7), and NRCS have revised the original mitigation banking guidance last updated in July of 2019.

Middle Fork Salt River Wetland & Stream Mitigation Bank

This notice is issued in accordance with the Compensatory Mitigation for Losses of Aquatic Resources; Final Rule (the Mitigation Rule) described in the Federal Register dated April 10, 2008, (33 CFR Parts 325 and 332). The St. Louis District and Rock Island District shall utilize the portions of the Central Plains / Cuivre /Salt Ecological Drainage Unit (EDU) and the Central Plains / Des Moines EDU located within Missouri for this bank proposal. This service area will provide mitigation options for applicants within the St. Louis District and Rock Island District.

Castor Falls Mitigation Bank (CEMVR-2024-1108)

The bank sponsor proposes to complete activities on approximately 44-acres of property owned by Naturion West, LLC. This project would result in the generation of emergent wetland and stream compensatory mitigation credits. The goal of this project is to restore 103.68-acres of emergent wetland, enhance 2.09-acres of forested wetland, establish 34.64-acres of buffer to generate an initial estimate of 7.56 wetland credits. The project will also restore 2,393.58 linear feet of stream with buffers to generate an initial estimate of 54,792.86 stream credits.

The goal of this project is to restore 103.68-acres of emergent wetland, enhance 2.09-acres of forested wetland, establish 34.64-acres of buffer to generate an initial estimate of 113.39 wetland credits.
