The Thomson Causeway offers 131 campsites, concrete camp pads and 50 amp electrical service, you are bound to find the perfect spot to spend a weekend. There are three playgrounds in the campground, a boat ramp with access to the main channel and backwaters, three picnic shelters and horse shoe pits. Also, don’t forget to explore Hidden Slough Nature Trail which offers a ¾ mile hike through bottom land forest. Access to the Great River Bike Trail is also just a few peddles away, located near the entrance to the park.
This busy recreation area is open to many activities year round, and to camping with facilities from May 1 through the fourth Sunday in October every year. Reservations are encouraged to guarantee you have a spot to camp when you arrive. The remainder of the year the park is accessible with limited facilities due to winter weather, which may interfere with some activities.
