Army Corps of Engineers Awards Contract for Levee System Railroad Closure

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District has awarded a contract for $551,000 for the Gregory Drainage District Railroad Closure (PL84-99), Stage ID, in Clark County, Mo.

 

Sunflower Enterprises of Dubuque, Iowa, will perform layout and installation of sheet pile for closure structure abutments as well as layout and installation of drilled pier foundations and steel plates for the support of closure structure panels.

 

The contract calls for the fabrication and installation of closure structure panels and support posts, in-filling and shaping depression along former levee alignment and shaping backfill around sheet pile abutment with cohesive fill materials obtained from former levee alignment. The work is scheduled to be completed by spring 2010.
