Published Nov. 10, 2011

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Beginning Nov. 14, four employees from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, will conduct a structure inventory along the Keith Creek main stem as part of the Keith Creek and Alpine Dam Feasibility Study. The Corps will survey elevations and take notes and photographs of structures. This study is being conducted in partnership with the City of Rockford. Weather permitting, the work is scheduled for completion in several weeks.

The information collected will be used to assess flood damages for an analysis of potential flood risk management alternatives meeting Corps selection criteria. The work will cause minimal disruption to traffic in the study area. Corps employees will not enter private property and will perform all work from the street and sidewalk. All Corps vehicles will be appropriately marked and all employees will carry proper identification.
