  • Corps Contractor to Begin Taking Soil Borings

    ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – A contractor for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Terracon, will be performing borings along the east bank of the Cedar River. The work will begin in March 2010 and will be completed by the end of the month. Terracon will drill approximately 43 holes to determine what the subsurface soil conditions are like.
  • Corps to host scoping meeting for Lake Red Rock, Hickory Ridge Project

    ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- Come be a part of creating a new attraction at Lake Red Rock. On March 10, 2010, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, and the Lake Red Rock Association will host a public scoping meeting for the Hickory Ridge Project. The meeting will be held at the Lake Red Rock Project office, 1105 Highway T-15, Knoxville, Iowa, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
