Location
Rock Falls, Illinois
Description
The riverbank is very steep at this location and erosion of the left descending bank downstream of the Sinnissippi Dam retaining wall is resulting in economic losses to the city in the form of repairs to East 2nd Street infrastructure. The dam is also a source of hydroelectric power. Opportunities exist to reduce repair costs to the City of Rock Falls through structural and non-structural measures.
Background
This is a potential new start. A letter of request has been received from the sponsor. The initial phase of work will be to complete a Federal Interest Determination.
Status
This project is awaiting funding.
