Program Manager

Polk County, IA

On January 14, 2014, Polk County sent a request for assistance for work in the Mud, Camp and Spring Creek watersheds. At that time, the Mud, Camp and Spring Creek Watershed Management Authority (MCSCWMA) was just being formed and additional input from all member organizations was needed to finalize the specific request. The WMA has since developed a watershed management plan.

In February 2017 a revised request for assistance was received for work within the Spring Creek Watershed. Spring Creek will be surveyed and evaluated to provide hydrologic and hydraulic data for inclusion in the hydraulic model. Particular attention will focus on stream characteristics, overflow areas, bridges, culverts and other basin features that could impact flow conditions.

In July 2017, the District and the Watershed Management Authority (WMA) entered into an agreement. This project will involve hydrology and hydraulic modeling along the Spring Creek portion of the WMA.
