Campground End of Season Dates

Iowa City, IA – The end of the 2017 camping season at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Coralville Lake is approaching.

The Sandy Beach Campground and Sugar Bottom Campground will be closing for the season on Sept. 30, 2017. The last night campers may register for a campsite is Friday, Sept. 29, 2017. Registered campers are required to checkout by 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017; at which time the gates at the entrance to the campgrounds will be closed and locked.

The Dam Complex Campgrounds will be closing for the season on Oct. 31, 2017. The last night campers may register for a campsite is Monday, Oct. 30, 2017. Registered campers are required to checkout by 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2017; at which time the gates at the entrance to the campgrounds will be closed and locked.

There is still time to come out and enjoy fall, sit by a campfire and witness the colors change at any of our three camping areas; Dam Complex Campgrounds, Sandy Beach Campground, and Sugar Bottom Campground.

Campsite reservations are available by internet www.recreation.gov, by phone 1(877) 444-6777, or in person at any of our campground fee booths. Campsite reservations must be made at least two days in advance and may be made up to six months in advance.
