PLEASANT VALLEY, Iowa – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi River Project is opening the Auxiliary Lock located Lock and Dam 14 in Pleasant Valley, Iowa, for recreational boating traffic starting May 25 and running through Sept. 3, 2018.
The Auxiliary Lock will be available every weekend for recreational traffic on Fridays from 4-10 p.m., Saturdays Noon-10 p.m., and Sundays Noon-10 p.m. In addition, the Auxiliary Lock will be open Noon-10 p.m. on Memorial Day and Labor Day holidays. The Auxiliary Lock will remain open until midnight on Friday, Aug.10, in support of recreational craft visiting the Tugfest activities and fireworks display.
