OTTAWA, Illinois. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, will temporarily close the Illinois Waterway Visitor Center located at Starved Rock Lock and Dam in Ottawa, Illinois, on October 1.
The temporary closure is the result of budget constraints. Currently, there is no timeline for reopening the visitor center.
Organized groups which were already scheduled to visit the facility will be accommodated but the building will remain closed to unscheduled groups and general visitors.
