ROCK ISLAND, Illinois. – Due to major rehabilitation work at Marseilles Lock on the Illinois Waterway, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is temporarily closing the visitor observation area from June 1 to Aug. 31. The Illini Park Fallen Soldier Monument area will remain open, however, parking may be congested due to construction activities.
