PLEASANT VALLEY, Iowa – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi River Project will be opening the Auxiliary Lock located at Locks and Dam 14 in Pleasant Valley, Iowa, for recreational boating traffic starting June 28. The lock will be open for use Fridays from 4-10 p.m., Saturdays Noon-10 p.m., and Sundays Noon-10 p.m. The lock is anticipated to remain open on weekends until Sept. 2.

Additionally, the Auxiliary Lock at Locks and Dam 14 will be open for use from Noon-10 p.m. on the 4th of July and Labor Day holidays and until midnight on Friday, Aug. 9, to help recreational boaters get locked through after Tugfest and fireworks events.
