Corps of Engineers to Reopen Day Use Areas at Coralville Lake

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Rock Island District announces the reopening of the Sugar Bottom day use area at Coralville Lake.

As of May 1, the Sugar Bottom day use area has reopened for public use and provides access to hiking and biking trails at Coralville Lake. The campground as well as picnic shelters, restrooms and playgrounds remain closed. Trash cans are not available at this time and visitors are asked to carry out any liter they may accumulate within the site.

Boat ramps and hiking/biking trails at Coralville Lake remain open with no restroom facilities. Campgrounds, beaches and the Visitor Center remain closed at this time.
