Barricades block access to the West Overlook Day Use Boat Ramp at Coralville Lake.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, has closed the West Overlook Day Use Boat Ramp at Coralville Lake until further notice. The closure was deemed necessary to evaluate safety concerns related to the boat ramp.

During the closure, visitors are asked to use alternate boat ramps including: Mehaffey Bridge Road, Curtis Bridge Road, Sandy Beach, and the Lake MacBride Access Ramp. Space is limited at these sites and boat ramps will be closed once capacity is met. Additionally, marinas have their own access restrictions and campground ramps are for registered campers only.

As a reminder, day use fees have been waived for all U.S Army Corps of Engineers facilities across the country through Oct. 1. This includes all boat ramps at Coralville Lake.
