Acorn Valley Youth Camping Area

Johnston, Iowa - Nestled in the upland timber of Acorn Valley Campground at Saylorville Lake sets the perfect outdoor adventure opportunity for youth.  The site provides a remote setting for organized youth groups looking for an opportunity to tent camp without the impact of neighbors and experience a degree of primitive camping. Camping is for chaperoned organized youth groups only.  Group members must be under the age of 18 and the activity must be sanctioned by a recognized organization (Boy/Girl Scouts, 4-H, schools, churches, etc.)

Camping Rate & Youth Group Camping Season

There is a flat rate of $35/group/night.  A group can have a maximum of 42 persons.  

Recreational Season for the Youth Group Camp Area runs from Memorial Day through October 12th.

You can reserve this site by either going online to www.recreation.gov or by calling
