SEASONAL PARK RANGER

REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid state driver’s license
- Wear prescribed uniform (allowance provided)
- Citizen of the United States
- Must be able to begin a minimum of part-time work in April. Applicants who are currently students must be able to begin full-time work immediately following the end of the spring semester and work through the summer until fall semester begins.
DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
- Perform Visitor Assistance
- Patrol recreation areas
- Enforcement of Title 36 CFR
- Inspect recreational facilities
- Conduct customer surveys
- Present interpretive programs
- Natural resource management
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
EMPLOYEE BENEFITS: Position(s) are available as temporary or term, not to exceed (NTE) 6 years. Seasonal Park Rangers earn 4 hours of sick leave and 4 hours of annual leave per pay period. When scheduled, Seasonal Park Rangers earn night differential, Sunday premium and holiday premium pay. Health benefits are available for certain appointments.
WORK SCHEDULE: Successful applicants will be required to work all weekends and all federal holidays during the full-time period as well as evening night patrol shifts when scheduled. Overtime may also be required when the situation arises.
TRAINING: Successful applicants will be required to attend approximately 60 hours of classroom and in-field training.
