U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Web site gets new look; Web links changing

Published Oct. 23, 2012

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, is migrating its public Web site (www.mvr.usace.army.mil) and all its Web pages to a new look and Web hosting platform on Thursday, 25 October.

This migration results in changed Web addresses which means individual bookmarks may no longer function. The main home page, www.mvr.usace.army.mil, will not change. Attempts will be made to provide redirects; however, it is not possible for all Web pages.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Headquarters (www.usace.army.mil), is updating, refreshing and migrating 58 Corps Web sites to a new system hosted by the Department of Defense. The system provides the Corps with a consistent Web site look and feel, streamlines content management making it easier to keep Web pages current, and delivers a rich end-user experience.

Among many other improvements, our goal is to provide the public with a visually appealing Web presence that includes up-to-date information, eliminates outdated data and is compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
