ROCK ISLAND, Ill – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District recently awarded $722,850 for a Des Moines-area contract slated for completion in 2010. The contract work repairs and replaces Department of the Army infrastructure at and Lake Red Rock, Iowa.
Lake Red Rock Howell Station Lift Station & North Tailwater Sewage Repairs
$722,850 to Fuel Tank Maintenance Company, L.L.C, of Cookeville, Tenn., for repairs to the Howell Station Lift Station & North Tailwater Sewage at Lake Red Rock in Pella, Iowa. Work under the contract at the Howell Station location includes all work for the construction of a new duplex submersible pump station, all connections, and demolition of the adjacent existing Howell Station lift station.
Contract work at the North Tailwater location includes all work for the construction of a new prefabricated grinder pump station, connections and the installation of a new 3-inch PVC forcemain that will convey wastewater from the new North Tailwater pump station to the new Howell Station lift station. The 3-inch forcemain is approximately 4,200 linear feet long. The work is scheduled to be completed by spring 2010. Additional contract information is available on the web @:
