Corps, City to host public meeting for Des Moines, Raccoon Rivers project

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the City of Des Moines will host a public meeting for the Des Moines and Raccoon Rivers project Feb. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Des Moines City Council Chambers, 400 Robert D Ray Drive, Des Moines, Iowa. 

 

The meeting will involve a short presentation by the Corps of Engineers, primarily focusing on Birdland Park and Central Place levee construction projects.  The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer period in which the Corps and the City officials will be available to address questions.

 

An invitation has been sent to involved federal and state agencies, city and business representatives, and many members of the public in the Des Moines area.  All are encouraged to participate in this public meeting.
