Coralville Lake Outflows Being Reduced

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, is reducing Coralville Reservoir outflows to 1000 cubic feet per second or less on Thursday June 3, 2010, to allow for divers to survey for freshwater mussels just below Park Road Bridge in Iowa City, Iowa.

 

This reduction of outflows is necessary to assess if there are any endangered mussels in the construction zone for the emergency bankline protection project along Dubuque Street. The diver with Ecological Specialists, who will relocate any mussels found to locations away from the project site.

 

The scheduled dive is subject to change depending upon weather conditions.
