The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi River Project announces the closure of Thomson Causeway Recreation Area in Thomson, Illinois, and Bulger’s Hollow Recreation Area in Clinton, Iowa due to impending high water.
The gates to the recreation areas will remain closed and locked during these high water events. They will be re-opened to the public when the areas have dried out sufficiently to allow safe access by vehicles and debris has been removed from the area.
