Peoria Lock Virtual Tour
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District
Aug. 4, 2020 | 3:29
Peoria Lock and Dam is one of five sites on the Illinois Waterway receiving much needed repairs and maintenance as part of the Rock Island District's 2020 Consolidated Lock Closure Project. The locks and dams on the Illinois Waterway are critical pieces of infrastructure that help drive our Nation’s economy by enabling the transport of commodities in the most safe and efficient mode available — river navigation. This video offers an inside look at the work taking place inside the dewatered lock this summer. For more information about the closures visit: https://www.mvr.usace.army.mil/Missions/Navigation/Navigation-Status/
