Liverpool Side Channel Project

The Liverpool Flowing Side Channel Project is located in Mason County, Illinois, in the LaGrange Pool of the Illinois Waterway. It is on the left descending bank between Lake Chautauqua and the main channel of the Illinois River at approximately river miles 124-130. 

The primary purpose of the project is to create flowing side channel habitat. The project also aims to reduce sediment deposition to maintain connectivity to the main channel and improve quality of side channel habitat.

The estimated total cost of this project is greater than $10 million.
