To facilitate major repairs, the Rock Island District is closing five of the eight locks and dams on the Illinois Waterway in the 2020. The closures will take place simultaneously to lessen impact to commercial navigation as much as possible. For more information click the link below.
Rock Island District and The Nature Conservancy have partnered to establish a Sustainable Rivers Program at Saylorville Lake and Lake Red Rock that will benefit aquatic dependent species while continuing to provide the same level of flood risk management to river communities.
