The applicant proposes to renew their Department of the Army permit number CEMVR-OD-P-2010-1534 to perform maintenance dredging activities. The purpose of the project is to provide adequate depths in an access channel through Harris Slough for recreational boats. An area 1,500 feet long and 25 feet wide will be mechanically dredged to a depth of 5 feet. The excavated material (approximately 400 to 500 cubic yards at each dredging occurrence) will be loaded onto a barge and then transported by truck to an upland agricultural field (42.458792, -90.562122) in an area 400 feet long by 150 feet wide. Maintenance dredging will occur on an as needed basis and there will be no “return water.” The material will be disposed of as stated above.
