Rock Island District Public Notices

Notice of Issuance of the Proposed Illinois Mitigation Banking Standard Service Areas

USACE Rock Island District
Published Oct. 23, 2024
Expiration date: 11/22/2024

Significant Change: This public notice is to reflect the updated service area boundary within the state of Illinois for both mitigation banks and in-lieu fee programs after a change in the Rock Island District Regulatory Boundary. Four counties (Kendall, Grundy, Kankakee, and Iroquois), part of the East Service Area, were transferred from the Rock Island District to the Chicago District, and the remaining portions of the East Service Area were absorbed into the Central Service Area. Therefore, the Central Service area boundary has been updated to reflect these changes. No other changes to service areas in Illinois are proposed.

Comments: This notice is meant to inform the public regarding the updated standard service area map after a district boundary change and to generate public comments on the proposal. Any comments received will be reviewed and considered before making a final determination.
