This prohibition applies to all recreation areas at Saylorville Lake, Lake Red Rock and Coralville Lake as well as Corps of Engineers locations along the Illinois Waterway and Mississippi River.

  • Corps Temporarily Modifies Saylorville and Red Rock Reservoir Water Releases

    ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, initiated a temporary modification to outflows today at Saylorville and Red Rock reservoirs to preserve flood storage capacity. This also allows the Corps to identify any unknown impacts as it evaluates the modification as a permanent change to the reservoirs’ water control plans.

A copy of the current manual and a link to a video presentation, used by the Rock Island District during public scoping meetings, can be found at https://go.usa.gov/xXqmx. The video and website provide detailed information about proposed updates to the Des Moines River Water Control Plan that includes the Water Control Manuals for Saylorville Lake and Lake Red Rock.

    ROCK ISLAND, Illinois – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, in partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, is hosting a public open house Feb. 21 to discuss an ecosystem restoration plan for the Beaver Island Habitat Rehabilitation and Enhancement Project. The public open house will take place from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Erickson Center at 1401 11th Ave. in Clinton, Iowa.

Proposed updates to the Manual will be discussed during the meetings and District staff will be on hand to answer questions and discuss comments, questions and/or concerns regarding the Water Control Plan update.

    ROCK ISLAND, Illinois – The Rock Island, St. Paul, and St. Louis Districts of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, along with their partners, will host a ceremony Aug. 8 at 4:30 p.m. to commemorate 30 years of service for the Upper Mississippi River Restoration Program. The ceremony will take place at Riverside Park, adjacent to the Radisson Hotel in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
