Special Public Notice: Public Notice Announcing the District Engineer’s Intent to Use Emergency Procedures in the States of Illinois and Iowa

Pursuant to Sec. 1 and Sec. 4 of EO 14156, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), Rock Island District has found the request to be subject to emergency treatment pursuant to special permit processing procedures in accordance with 33 CFR § 325.2(e)(4) for the National Energy Emergency established by Executive Order 14156, which was issued on January 20, 2025, and the special processing procedures established by Mississippi Valley Division.

Sheet Pile Wall Construction - Illinois Waterway Project Office

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, proposes to construct a modified diaphragm sheet pile wall along the Shop Building 306 extending through the Marina Way. The project would replace the existing anchored sheet pile wall that is structurally failing.

Lake Red Rock Administration & Visitor Center

Expiration date: 3/20/2025

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District (District), proposes to demolish the existing 8,000-square-foot Lake Red Rock Administration and Visitor Center and restore the site near Knoxville, IA. The District received funding in the Fiscal Year 2022 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to design and construct a new administration and visitor center complex, including new access roads, parking, landscaping, electrical, sewer, and water utilities.
