Corps of Engineers Seeks Comments on Plan for Steamboat Island Habitat Rehabilitation and Enhancement Project
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District and its Upper Mississippi River Restoration Program partners are constructing a habitat rehabilitation project in Pool 14 of the Mississippi River near Princeton, Iowa, and are seeking comments on the project plan through June 15.

Corps of Engineers Suspends Collection of Day Use Fees, Campground Closures Continue until June 1
ROCK ISLAND, Illinois – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District has suspended the collection of day use fees until Oct. 1. These suspended fees apply to all open recreation areas within the District. This includes recreation areas at Saylorville Lake, Lake Red Rock, Coralville Lake and those located along the Mississippi River between Potosi, Wisconsin and Saverton, Missouri.

Change of Command for Mississippi Valley Division
Maj. Gen. R. Mark Toy will transfer command of the Mississippi Valley Division (MVD), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), to Maj. Gen. Diana M. Holland in a formal change of command ceremony June 30 at 10 a.m. at MVD headquarters. Due to the current conditions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event will not be open to the public, but will be live streamed on Facebook @mississippivalleydivision.

Locks and Dam 14 Auxiliary Lock to Remain Closed
ROCK ISLAND, Illinois – Due to ongoing construction and concerns related to the spread of COVID-19, the Rock Island District will not be opening the auxiliary lock at Locks and Dam 14 in Pleasant Valley, Iowa, as scheduled on Memorial Day. The date of anticipated opening is unknown at this time.

Corps of Engineers contractor set to begin work at Conway Lake
ST. PAUL, Minn. – A contractor for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, Kaiyuh Services, LLC, of Anchorage, Alaska is preparing to start construction on a habitat restoration project in Conway Lake, near Lansing, Iowa, in May.

Corps of Engineers begins Mississippi River habitat construction project
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, has started the first phase of the McGregor Lake Habitat Rehabilitation and Enhancement Project to restore habitat within Pool 10 of the Upper Mississippi River.
