• Coralville Lake Seeks Park Attendant & Custodian Contractors

    IOWA CITY, Iowa – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking individuals interested in Park Attendant and Custodian positions at Coralville Lake. These are contracted positions with work being performed from April through October for the 2015 and 2016 recreation seasons. There are four contracts available: one Park Attendant/Custodian Contract for the Sandy Beach Campground and Recreation Area, two Custodian Contracts at the Dam Complex Recreation Areas and one Park Attendant Contract at Sugar Bottom Campground.

The public is invited to nominate individuals who meet the criteria in order that they may be recognized for outstanding service in the U.S. Armed Services.
  • Coralville Lake Bald Eagle Watch & Expo

    IOWA CITY, IOWA –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Coralville Lake will be co-hosting a Bald Eagle Watch and Expo on Saturday, February 7, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at North Central Junior High, 180 E. Forevergreen Road, North Liberty, Iowa. The other co-hosts are the Iowa City Bird Club and the Iowa Wildlife Federation.
  • Historic Clock Tower and Eagle Watch Tours

    Rock Island, IL - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi River Project announces that the Visitor Center at Locks and Dam #15 is inviting guests to participate in Historic Clock Tower and Eagle Watching Tours. Learn about the Historic Clock Tower building as you climb the stairs to the top. Waiting there is a spectacular view of the Mississippi River where you will have the opportunity to see Bald Eagles who visit our area during the cold winter months.
  • Independent review panel studies and approves construction thus far at Red Rock Hydroelectric Project

    SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A four-member panel of experts in dam and hydroelectric project design and construction has given its approval to construction work thus far at the Red Rock Hydroelectric Project, located on the Des Moines River near Pella, Iowa. An Independent External Peer Review (IEPR) Panel was on site at the project Jan. 14-15 to review reports, tour the facilities, observe construction activities, and examine various construction elements.
  • Miss River Recreation Area Important Updates

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi River Project announces five important updates to the camping and reservation program. Overnight camping fees for Class A sites are now $10 for non-electric and $20 for sites with electric. Camping fees for our Class B sites are now $8.00 per night while Class C sites will remain at $6.00 per night. The discount passes, such as the America the Beautiful and/or Golden Age/Access passes will continue to be accepted.
  • Muscatine Bald Eagle Watch 2015

    Muscatine, IA - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi River Project invites the public to enjoy a day of eagle viewing. Our annual Bald Eagle Watch, a part of the Eagles and Ivories Ragtime Weekend Festival held in Muscatine, Iowa, will take place Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Pearl City Station in Riverside Park, 100 Harbor Drive, Muscatine, Iowa.
  • Picnic Shelter Reservations to be made through the National Recreation Reservation Service

    Reservations for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers picnic shelters will no longer be taken at the Lake Red Rock project office. Beginning Friday, January 2, 2015, reservations must be reserved online at www.recreation.gov or by calling the National Recreation Reservation Service at 877-444-6777. Reservations must be made a minimum of 4 days ahead of arrival and can be made up to 12 months in advance. Shelter prices will remain unchanged from last year. If shelters are not reserved, they are available free of charge on a first come, first served basis.
