  • Last Weekend for Historic Clock Tower and Eagle Watch Tours

    Rock Island, IL - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi River Project announces that the Visitor Center at Locks and Dam #15 is inviting guests to participate in Historic Clock Tower and Eagle Watching Tours. Learn about the Historic Clock Tower building as you climb the stairs to the top. Waiting there is a spectacular view of the Mississippi River where you will have the opportunity to see Bald Eagles who visit our area during the cold winter months.

  • Corps Seeks Agricultural Lease Applications at Coralville Lake

    ROCK ISLAND, Ill.—The Rock Island District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking applications for leasing approximately 120.5 acres of land for agricultural purposes at Coralville Lake. The lease is for a five-year term. Applications will be evaluated based upon the highest annual rental proposed.

  • Camp for Free: Summer Volunteers Needed at Lake Red Rock

    Spend the summer camping at Lake Red Rock for free! The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will provide a free, full-hookup campsite to volunteers willing to provide custodial service at: North Overlook beach, Whitebreast beach, Whitebreast campground and Wallashuck campground. Volunteers are needed from late April through September 2014.   • Mississippi River Visitor Center - OPEN HOUSE

    Rock Island, IL - You are cordially invited to attend an Open House at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Mississippi River Visitor Center located at Locks and Dam #15 on the Rock island Arsenal. The Open House will run all day on Friday January 24, 2014 from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.

  • Muscatine Bald Eagle Watch 2014

    Muscatine, IA-The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi River Project invites the public to enjoy a day of eagle viewing. The annual Bald Eagle Watch, a part of the Eagles and Ivories Ragtime Weekend Festival held in Muscatine, Iowa, will take place Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

  • Winner, South Dakota native Randy Braley receives Order of the de Fleury Medal

    Randy Braley, whose hometown is Winner, S.D., was awarded the Bronze Order of the de Fleury Medal by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Rock Island District Commander, Col. Mark Deschenes, during an awards ceremony Dec. 9 at the Naval Reserve Center on Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, Ill.
