    Closures at Coralville Lake

    IOWA CITY, Iowa - Due to rising lake levels, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Coralville Lake are closing several recreational areas starting September 4. Closed areas will include the Curtis Bridge Boat Ramp, the boat ramp and swim beach at Sandy Beach Day Use Area, campsites 170-181 and 194-208 and the beaches and boat ramp at the Sugar Bottom Recreation Area. Due to water over the roadway, 140th Street between Ely Road and the Sandy Beach Day Use Area will also be impassible.

    Corps to Host Several Public Open House Events for Des Moines River Basin Master Reservoir Regulation Manual Update

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District is hosting four public open house events to seek comment on the Draft Des Moines River Basin Master Reservoir Regulation Manual Feasibility Report with an Integrated Environmental Assessment. The Feasibility Report describes the alternatives considered and makes a recommendation on revisions to the Des Moines River Basin Master Reservoir Regulation Manual which includes the Water Control Plans for Saylorville Lake and Lake Red Rock. Proposed updates to the Manual will be discussed during the meetings and District staff will be on hand to answer questions and discuss comments, questions and/or concerns regarding the Manual update.

    Corps to Host Public Meeting to Discuss Habitat Rehabilitation and Enhancement near Keithsburg, Illinois

    ROCK ISLAND, Illinois – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, in partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, is hosting a public meeting and open house July 16 to discuss plans for ecosystem restoration at the Keithsburg Division of Port Louisa National Wildlife Refuge.
