• Corps Seeks Agricultural Lease Applications at Red Rock Dam and Lake Red Rock Project

    ROCK ISLAND, Ill.—The Rock Island District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking applications for 17 leases for agricultural purposes, with a total of 886 acres. The leases are for a five-year term. Applications will be evaluated based upon the highest annual rental proposed.

  • Corps begins structure inventory and surveying along Keith Creek

    ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Beginning Nov. 14, four employees from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, will conduct a structure inventory along the Keith Creek main stem as part of the Keith Creek and Alpine Dam Feasibility Study. The Corps will survey elevations and take notes and photographs of structures. This study is being conducted in partnership with the City of Rockford. Weather permitting, the work is scheduled for completion in several weeks.

    VICKSBURG, Miss. – In a formal change of command ceremony, Major General Michael J. Walsh will transfer command of the Mississippi Valley Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, to Major General John W. Peabody, Thursday, November 10. The ceremony will be officiated by the Corps' Acting Chief of Engineers, Major General Merdith “Bo” Temple, and will take place at 10 a.m. in the Vicksburg Convention Center.
