  • REMINDER: Fireworks prohibited on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers property

    ROCK ISLAND, Illinois - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, reminds everyone that possession of explosives or explosive devices of any kind, including fireworks and other pyrotechnics, on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers property is prohibited. This prohibition applies to all recreation areas at Saylorville Lake, Lake Red Rock and Coralville Lake as well as Corps of Engineers locations along the Illinois Waterway and Mississippi River.
  • Lock and Dam 16 Visitor Overlook Access

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi River Project announces that beginning on Friday, June 23rd, access to the Lock and Dam 16 visitor overlook will be closed due to construction activities. There will not be a lock and dam tour this Sunday. The visitor overlook will re-open on Monday, June 26th.   • Corps Invites Public Comment on Farm Creek Master Planning

    ROCK ISLAND, Illinois - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District is in the process of creating a master plan for the Farm Creek Reservoirs. Part of this process is to invite public comment. Anyone wishing to provide input can do so at an open house on Tuesday, June 27 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the FOLEPI Building located at 2230 E. Washington Street, East Peoria, IL.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to conduct visitor surveys

    ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will conduct visitor surveys this summer at Lake Red Rock and Saylorville Lake near Des Moines, Iowa, June 10 through Sept. 10. Visitors exiting these two recreation facilities will be asked about their length of stay and overall experience. Participation in the survey is voluntary.
