  • Rice Lake ribbon cutting celebrates habitat restoration project completion

    ROCK ISLAND, Illinois - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, in cooperation with its partners at the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Rice Lake Habitat Rehabilitation and Enhancement Project Thursday, Oct. 12 at 1:30 p.m.
  • Lake Red Rock Volunteers Receive National Award

    Chester and Phyllis Briggs, Newton residents and long-time Lake Red Rock volunteers, are two of this year's national recipients of the Enduring Service Volunteer Award. They will receive the award at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 28 at the Bass Pro Shops in Altoona, Iowa. The Corps Foundation established the award in January 2016 to honor long term service and outstanding accomplishments by individuals and families of volunteers at US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) lakes and waterways.

    September 30th is National Public Lands Day and the US Army Corps of Engineers at Saylorville Lake is hosting a cleanup project beginning at 11AM, ending at 3PM. Join more than 175,000 volunteers around the nation by spending the day outdoors ensuring our public lands continue to be beautiful places for all to enjoy. Participants who would like to help clean up the environment around Saylorville Lake can sign up at the Saylorville Lake Visitor Center.
