Rock Island District Public Notices

Regulatory - Impacts to wetlands and any other water of the United States require a Section 404 permit to ensure no net loss. Impacts to navigable waters as defined under Section 10 of the Rives and Harbors Act of 1899 are reviewed to ensure no loss of navigable capacity. Applications requiring an Individual permit typically have a 30-day public review.

 

Civil Works - Corps projects with an associated Environmental Assessment (EA) or Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) require a minimum 30-day public review per the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

Modifications/Section 408 - Alterations to Corps Civil Works projects require a Section 408 permit to ensure modifications are within purpose and will not be injurious to the public interest. Applications for a Section 408 permit require a minimum 30-day public notice.
